Tuition 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Class
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
An 8-Week In-Person Training in Lyons, Colorado
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a well-established, evidence-based program designed to help people meet stress, pain, and emotional intensity with greater steadiness, clarity, and care.
This formal 8-week MBSR program follows the standardized curriculum developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and taught internationally in medical, clinical, and community settings. The course emphasizes sustained, embodied practice and practical integration into daily life. It is experiential, relational, and grounded in nervous system awareness.
The program is offered fully in person to support depth of learning, continuity of practice, and a sense of shared presence within the group.
Proven Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation
Research on MBSR and decades of clinical use show consistent benefits across a wide range of populations. Participants often report:
Reduced stress and improved ability to respond rather than react
Greater emotional regulation and tolerance for difficult experiences
Improved attention, focus, and clarity in daily life
Increased awareness of habitual patterns and greater choice in how to meet them
Enhanced capacity for self-care and boundary awareness
Improved sleep and overall sense of well-being
Greater resilience in the face of ongoing life stressors
These outcomes develop through regular practice, gentle inquiry, and learning to relate differently to thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations.
Program Structure
Participants receive the complete MBSR training, including:
Eight weekly in-person sessions (2.5 hours each)
One full-day mindfulness retreat
Instruction in formal mindfulness meditation practices, including seated and lying down meditations, body awareness, and gentle mindful movement based in Hatha Yoga
Recorded guidance for home practice
Worksheets and reflection materials to support experiential learning
A small cohort to support safety, connection, and depth of practice
Participants who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion. Completion of this 8-week MBSR course meets the foundational course requirement commonly required for those seeking training pathways in teaching clinical mindfulness-based interventions, including MBSR and related programs.
