Wednesday, March 4 | 6:00–8:30 pm (MST)
Live online via Zoom
Free | Registration required
This free online orientation and preview session introduces the formal 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program beginning in March.
During the session, participants will receive an overview of the MBSR structure, time commitment, and expectations, and experience a brief guided mindfulness practice. The orientation also offers space to ask questions and assess readiness before committing to the full 8-week course.
Attendance at an orientation session is a required prerequisite for enrollment in the MBSR program and supports the screening and intake process.
The session is facilitated by Dr. Cynthia Garner, a certified mindfulness teacher with extensive training in mindfulness-based interventions through the UC San Diego School of Medicine and the Centre for Mindfulness Studies (Toronto). The orientation is taught in a trauma-sensitive, relational manner and is appropriate for those with no prior mindfulness or meditation experience.
Participants will receive Zoom access details upon registration.
